Precious Metal Recovery from metal finishing and PCB manufacturing wastewater discharges, becomes attractive as the regulation and cost of disposal of hazardous sludge increases. An alternative approach is to recover and recycle metals instead of hauling liquid concentrates and/or sludge's to regulated reclamation facilities. Electrowinning systems produce metals

Recovery Applications
The Kurion Plate Out Cell System compliments Kurion IX/ER Copper Recovery System and Electroless Copper IX System. In addition, it is ideally suited to recover metals from selected sources, such as the following:

Treatment Process
The Kurion Plate Out Cell System can be operated to batch treat selected concentrated solutions or to continually remove metals from a dragout static rinse station at the point source. | | Concentrated Solution Metal Recovery
Concentrated metal solutions, including acid regenerants from ion exchange processes and segregated electroless copper solutions, are collected separately in appropriately sized collection tanks. These segregated solutions are recirculated, one at a time, through the Kurion Plate Out Cell System for different applications.
With application of DC current, the metal is electrolytically reduced and deposited on the cathode surfaces within the plate out cell. When the metal concentration is plated to the desired level, the metal-depleted solution is transferred either to the main treatment system for further processing or to the final neutralization tank for discharge, depending on the remaining metal concentration. The recovered metals are shipped off-site for reclamation or non-hazardous disposal.
