UV Oxidation Technology

Kurion ACK reactors redefine industry standards for UV oxidation applications. Our robust borosilicate glass tubes are used to encase our industrial reactors. The borosilicate glass prevents corrosion and allows viewing of the reactor chamber along its entire length.

All radiation is not equal. To guarantee optimal operating performance we have developed an electronic performance control system (RECO). The system guarantees optimal UV lamp output and also increases UV lamp life.

To ensure we obtain the correct degradation rate we examine your sample using our scaled down laboratory reactors. Using this method enables us to reliably determine the best design for a large scale system.

Elimination of active substances

There are many hazardous active substances from chemical and pharmaceutical production which are prohibited from being discharged to the environment.

Our UV oxidation technology breaks the contaminant primary structure, which leads to a major TOC reduction / COD reduction, yielding a secure non-toxic bio compatible waste stream.

We have already installed a large number of units within the pharmaceutical and chemical industry for the following applications:

· Antibiotics
· Hormones
· Radio contrast materials (X-ray, NMR)
· Chlorinated intermediates
· Organic poly-Phosphonates
· Organic acids (z.B.: EDTA, NTA, …)
· Hetero- cyclo- aliphatics (e.g.: 1,4-Dioxan)
· N-organics
· Aromatics and hetero aromatics

Synthetic Photo Chemistry

A number of organics producers already use our UV

facilities. High value components such as vitimins can

be synthesised.

Working Installations:

Photo chlorisation, sulfo chlorisation, photo nitrolysation,

photo addition, photo polymerisation, ring-chain-

isomerisation.
